new-work: the mode still governs the playbook's energy
Paul's gallery check of the a8 docs run: skill-on still SaaS-ified the documentation page. The playbook was persuade-flavored end to end, so gating a greenfield Read surface through it risked amplifying exactly that. New leading section: on Operate and Read surfaces boldness means a committed system (typographic voice, spacing rhythm, one owned accent, inevitable structure), the thesis is the content or the task itself, and nothing invented may stand between the visitor and what they came to do. You are reading this because nothing committed exists yet (greenfield), or the user asked for a redesign that discards the current look. Either way the task is the same: invent a visual identity that could not be mistaken for anyone else's, and build it to the craft floor. SKILL.md's rules all still apply; this file is the process that produces the identity.

## The mode still governs
Identity gets invented in every mode, but this playbook's energy lands differently per mode (SKILL.md's Registers section decides which applies). On Persuade and Experience surfaces, commitment is allowed to be loud. On Operate and Read surfaces, boldness means a committed **system**: a decisive typographic voice, an exact spacing rhythm, one owned accent, structure so clear it feels inevitable. The thesis of a Read surface is the content itself, served impeccably; the thesis of an Operate surface is the task, made effortless. Nothing you invent may stand between the visitor and what they came to do: a device that would impress a passerby but slow a reader fails its mode, however handsome.

## Seed
If the project is brand-new (no committed tokens, fonts, or brand colors found in the code), run `node .github/skills/impeccable/scripts/palette.mjs` for a brand seed color. The seed exists to break your reflex palette; it does not override the subject. When the subject's world clearly dictates color (an era, a place, a material, a medium), derive the palette from that world and use the seed only to check yourself. Otherwise anchor on it. Use OKLCH throughout. Skip this entirely when the code already has committed brand colors: identity-preservation wins.
