Release prep: skill v3.9.0, CLI v3.2.0
Bump skill 3.8.0 -> 3.9.0 (plugin.json, marketplace.json, plugin/ subtree, regenerated provider harness output) and CLI 3.1.0 -> 3.2.0 (package.json). Changelog (site/pages/changelog.astro): - Skill v3.9.0: codex grid-background ban, /impeccable bolder design-system lock, critique sub-agent independence on non-Claude/Codex harnesses, bundled helpers under strict-permission harnesses, Codex hook manifest fix. - CLI v3.2.0: codex-grid-background detector rule, external skills-symlink preservation on first install. Also: gitignore nested hook.cache.json/hook.pending.json copies (anchored patterns missed the generated harness dirs), and repoint CLAUDE.md/AGENTS.md changelog docs at changelog.astro with concise, user-facing-only tone guidance. Tags are per-component because the three components ship independently: `skill-v` (`.claude-plugin/plugin.json` + `.claude-plugin/marketplace.json`), `cli-v` (`package.json`), `ext-v` (`extension/manifest.json`). Flow: bump the relevant manifest, add a changelog entry to `site/pages/index.astro` (skill = bare `vX.Y.Z`; CLI = `CLI vX.Y.Z`; extension = `Extension vX.Y.Z` — the prefix is how `scripts/release.mjs` finds the right block), commit, push, then `bun run release:<skill|cli|ext>` (or `--dry-run` first). The script refuses on a dirty tree, an unpushed HEAD, a missing changelog entry, or stale build outputs; skill and extension reruns of `bun run build:release` / `bun run build:extension` must produce zero diff. Skill releases attach `dist/universal.zip`; extension releases attach `dist/extension.zip`. CLI ships to npm via a separate `npm publish`, and the extension zip uploads to the Chrome Web Store manually — both reminded at the end of the script. Fix already-shipped notes with `gh release edit <tag> --notes-file <md>`.

A new anti-slop rule for Codex-style grid backgrounds, a bolder pass that respects your design system, and critique that stays independent across more harnesses.

Decorative grid backgrounds are now a named tell. Impeccable refuses the two-axis CSS grid overlay built from hairline gradient lines and a repeating
background-size
, the pattern Codex reaches for on almost any empty surface. Actual canvases, maps, blueprints, and measurement tools still get their grid; everything else gets real product structure or a plain surface.

/impeccable bolder
stays inside your design system. When a project has a
DESIGN.md
, tokens, or established component styles, a bolder pass now makes the existing language more decisive through hierarchy, proportion, density, and copy instead of inventing new colors, gradients, or effects. If the system genuinely cannot express the direction, it names the exact additions and asks before expanding.

Critique holds its independence on more harnesses. On harnesses other than Claude and Codex, the critique pass now runs in its own sub-agent more often, so the review reads the design with fresh eyes instead of inheriting the editing context that produced it.

Bundled helpers run under strict-permission harnesses. The skill's bundled Node helpers now execute on harnesses that lock permissions down, so setup and detection work without extra approval prompts.

Codex hook manifest fixed. Corrected the Codex hook manifest schema so the post-edit design check registers cleanly.
